Document Checking in Challenging Environments
Each year, the ID and secure document industry produces tens of millions of documents that require fast and reliable examination to confirm their authenticity. Doculus Lumus® is a mobile document checking device from charismaTec that was developed specifically for use in the often challenging environments of document checking for border management, law enforcement, security printing and banking.
charismaTec was founded in May 2010 by IT graduates Sandra Slavinec and Dieter Lutzmayr with the goal of providing innovative and niche-market RFID applications, IT services and automation technology solutions. With the support of Austrian police document expert Matthias Draxler, the company has developed the Doculus Lumus mobile document checking device using locally sourced components and manufacturing.
Doculus Lumus is designed to work from 2AAA batteries (also rechargeable batteries), or a rechargeable Li-ion battery, making it highly flexible for fieldwork, and has robust housing that has been drop tested to 1.5m. It comes standard with x15 or x22 magnification, four white incident light LEDs (full and rotating), four strong UV LEDs @365 nm, eight LEDs for automatic or manual rotating oblique light and torchlight mode.
